BLT sandwich
A classic sandwich made with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomato, typically served on toasted bread with mayonnaise.
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- While the bacon is cooking, slice the tomato and rinse the lettuce leaves. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- Optional: Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Toast the bread in a separate skillet over medium heat until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each toasted bread slice.
- On one slice of bread, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the tomato slices. Season the tomato with salt and pepper.
- Place the cooked bacon strips over the tomato slices.
- Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
- Gently press the sandwich together and cut in half diagonally for serving.
