BLT sandwich

A classic sandwich made with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomato, typically served on toasted bread with mayonnaise.

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  2. While the bacon is cooking, slice the tomato and rinse the lettuce leaves. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Optional: Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Toast the bread in a separate skillet over medium heat until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each toasted bread slice.
  5. On one slice of bread, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the tomato slices. Season the tomato with salt and pepper.
  6. Place the cooked bacon strips over the tomato slices.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
  8. Gently press the sandwich together and cut in half diagonally for serving.
