Garlic bread
A classic appetizer made with bread topped with garlic, butter, and herbs, often baked until golden and crispy.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise to open it like a book, keeping the two halves connected at the base.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread halves.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top of the bread for added richness.
- Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the bread if you desire a spicy kick.
- Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet, buttered sides up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges of the bread are golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
