Caesar salad
A classic salad with romaine lettuce, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a creamy dressing made with garlic, lemon, anchovies, and olive oil.
Instructions
- Chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic and chopped anchovies. Mash together with the back of a spoon to form a paste.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the garlic-anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice until well combined.
- Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the dressing.
- Season the dressing with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Pour the dressing over the chopped romaine lettuce and toss until the leaves are well coated.
- Add the croutons and half of the Parmesan cheese to the salad and toss again.
- Transfer the salad to a serving platter or individual plates.
- Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top of the salad.
- Serve immediately for the freshest flavor and texture.
