Tzatziki

A Greek dip made with yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, and fresh herbs like dill or mint.

Instructions

  1. Peel the cucumber and grate it using a box grater. Place the grated cucumber in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much excess water as possible.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  3. Add the chopped dill, mint, salt, and black pepper to the yogurt mixture.
  4. Stir all the ingredients together until well combined and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice to suit your preference.
  6. Transfer the tzatziki to a serving bowl and drizzle with a little extra olive oil on top for garnish.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
  8. Serve chilled as a dip with pita bread or as a sauce for grilled meats and vegetables.
