Omelette

A classic dish made with beaten eggs cooked in a pan, often filled or topped with ingredients like cheese, vegetables, meats, or herbs.

Instructions

  1. Crack the eggs into a medium bowl. Add the milk, salt, and pepper. Beat the mixture with a fork or whisk until well combined and slightly frothy.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow the butter to melt and coat the bottom of the pan.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Let it cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes until the edges begin to set.
  4. Gently stir the eggs with a spatula, pulling the cooked edges towards the center and allowing the uncooked eggs to flow outwards.
  5. Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, sprinkle the cheese, ham, chives, mushrooms, and tomato over one half of the omelette.
  6. Using the spatula, carefully fold the omelette in half over the fillings.
  7. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the omelette is fully set.
  8. Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve immediately.
