Miso-glazed salmon

A flavorful dish featuring salmon glazed with a savory and slightly sweet miso-based sauce, often paired with rice and vegetables.

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, sake, mirin, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and grated ginger until smooth.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the miso marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
  5. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
  6. While the salmon is baking, toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the top.
  8. Serve the miso-glazed salmon with steamed rice and your choice of vegetables, such as steamed broccoli or sautéed spinach.
