Miso-glazed salmon
A flavorful dish featuring salmon glazed with a savory and slightly sweet miso-based sauce, often paired with rice and vegetables.
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, sake, mirin, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and grated ginger until smooth.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the miso marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
- While the salmon is baking, toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
- Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the top.
- Serve the miso-glazed salmon with steamed rice and your choice of vegetables, such as steamed broccoli or sautéed spinach.
