Maple syrup pancakes

Fluffy pancakes topped with rich maple syrup, offering a sweet and comforting breakfast or brunch treat.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some small lumps are okay.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup (60ml) of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip the pancakes and cook until the other side is golden brown, about 2 minutes more.
  7. Transfer cooked pancakes to a warm plate and cover to keep warm while you cook the remaining batter.
  8. Serve the pancakes warm, topped with a generous drizzle of maple syrup.
