Ramen
A Japanese noodle soup consisting of wheat noodles served in a flavorful broth, often topped with ingredients like sliced pork, soft-boiled eggs, seaweed, and green onions.
Instructions
- In a medium pot, bring the chicken or pork broth to a simmer over medium heat. Add the soy sauce, mirin, and miso paste, stirring until the miso is fully dissolved. Keep the broth warm on low heat.
- In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled eggs. Remove the eggs and place them in an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs and set aside.
- In the same pot of boiling water, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, typically 3-4 minutes. Drain and divide the noodles into serving bowls.
- Pour the hot broth over the noodles in each bowl.
- Top each bowl with sliced chashu pork, halved soft-boiled eggs, nori sheets, green onions, and sesame seeds.
- Drizzle with a small amount of chili oil if desired for extra heat.
- Serve immediately while hot.
