Ramen

A Japanese noodle soup consisting of wheat noodles served in a flavorful broth, often topped with ingredients like sliced pork, soft-boiled eggs, seaweed, and green onions.

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, bring the chicken or pork broth to a simmer over medium heat. Add the soy sauce, mirin, and miso paste, stirring until the miso is fully dissolved. Keep the broth warm on low heat.
  2. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled eggs. Remove the eggs and place them in an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs and set aside.
  3. In the same pot of boiling water, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, typically 3-4 minutes. Drain and divide the noodles into serving bowls.
  4. Pour the hot broth over the noodles in each bowl.
  5. Top each bowl with sliced chashu pork, halved soft-boiled eggs, nori sheets, green onions, and sesame seeds.
  6. Drizzle with a small amount of chili oil if desired for extra heat.
  7. Serve immediately while hot.
