Garlic butter shrimp
A savory dish of shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce, often enhanced with herbs and a hint of lemon.
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until just pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate and the sauce to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce for about 1-2 minutes until they are well coated and heated through.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Toss gently to combine.
- Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish, pour any remaining sauce over the top, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
