Caprese salad

A simple Italian salad made with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar.

Instructions

  1. Arrange the tomato slices on a large serving platter, slightly overlapping them.
  2. Place the mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes, alternating the pattern.
  3. Tuck the basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella slices to evenly distribute the flavor.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Sprinkle the balsamic vinegar over the salad for a touch of acidity and sweetness.
  6. Season the salad with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Let the salad sit for about 10 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. Serve immediately as a refreshing appetizer or side dish.
