Sweet potato fries

A side dish made from sweet potatoes, cut into thin strips, seasoned, and baked or fried until crispy, offering a sweet and savory flavor.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Mix well.
  4. Add the sweet potato strips to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.
  5. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the seasoned sweet potatoes and toss again to ensure even coating.
  6. Spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then flip the fries using a spatula for even cooking.
  8. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the fries are crispy and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh rosemary if using. Let cool slightly before serving.
