Pecan Pie
A sweet pie made with pecans, sugar, eggs, and butter, baked in a flaky crust.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Position a rack in the center of the oven.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and melted butter. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and salt until fully combined.
- Place the pecan halves in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust, spreading them evenly.
- Pour the prepared filling over the pecans, ensuring they are covered and distributed evenly.
- Carefully place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and transfer to the preheated oven.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and the pie is golden brown. The center should spring back slightly when gently pressed.
- Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
- Serve slices with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
