Kale Chips

A healthy snack made from kale leaves, lightly seasoned and baked until crispy.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Remove the thick stems from the kale and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, drizzle the kale pieces with olive oil. Sprinkle with sea salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, nutritional yeast, and cayenne pepper if using.
  4. Massage the kale with your hands to evenly distribute the oil and seasonings over all the leaves.
  5. Spread the kale leaves in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even baking.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping the leaves halfway through, until they are crispy and just starting to brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the kale chips cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed.
  9. Transfer to a bowl and serve immediately for optimal crispiness.
