Collard Green Stir-Fry

A quick and flavorful dish featuring sautéed collard greens, garlic, onions, and spices, perfect as a side or light main course.

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped collard greens to the skillet, tossing them to coat in the oil, onion, and garlic mixture.
  5. Pour in the apple cider vinegar, stirring to combine, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Season the greens with salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste.
  7. Add the chicken or vegetable broth, cover the skillet, and let the greens steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender but still bright green.
  8. Remove the lid and continue to cook for an additional 2 minutes to evaporate any excess liquid.
  9. Transfer the collard green stir-fry to a serving dish and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired.
