A quick and flavorful dish featuring sautéed collard greens, garlic, onions, and spices, perfect as a side or light main course.
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped collard greens to the skillet, tossing them to coat in the oil, onion, and garlic mixture.
- Pour in the apple cider vinegar, stirring to combine, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Season the greens with salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste.
- Add the chicken or vegetable broth, cover the skillet, and let the greens steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender but still bright green.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook for an additional 2 minutes to evaporate any excess liquid.
- Transfer the collard green stir-fry to a serving dish and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired.
