Buffalo wings
A popular American appetizer consisting of deep-fried chicken wings coated in a tangy, spicy hot sauce, typically served with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing.
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place the flour in a large resealable plastic bag. Add the seasoned wings to the bag, seal, and shake until the wings are well-coated with flour.
- In a large deep skillet or deep fryer, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wings in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan, for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in the hot sauce and vinegar until smooth.
- Transfer the fried wings to a large mixing bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
- Arrange the coated wings on a serving platter. Serve immediately with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing on the side.
