broccoli stir-fry

A quick and healthy dish featuring broccoli stir-fried with garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil, often served as a side or light main course.

Instructions

  1. Wash the broccoli thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized florets. Peel the broccoli stem and slice it thinly if desired.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan, stirring quickly to avoid burning, for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and start to become tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and water.
  6. Pour the sauce mixture over the broccoli and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp and evenly coated with the sauce.
  7. Remove the pan from heat and transfer the stir-fried broccoli to a serving dish.
  8. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top as a garnish before serving.
