broccoli stir-fry
A quick and healthy dish featuring broccoli stir-fried with garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil, often served as a side or light main course.
Instructions
- Wash the broccoli thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized florets. Peel the broccoli stem and slice it thinly if desired.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan, stirring quickly to avoid burning, for about 30 seconds.
- Add the broccoli florets to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and start to become tender.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and water.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the broccoli and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp and evenly coated with the sauce.
- Remove the pan from heat and transfer the stir-fried broccoli to a serving dish.
- Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top as a garnish before serving.
