Pepperoni Pizza
A classic Italian-American dish featuring a thin crust topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and slices of spicy pepperoni.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to its highest setting, typically around 475°F (245°C), and place a pizza stone or an inverted baking sheet inside to heat.
- On a floured surface, stretch and roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch (30cm) circle. If using cornmeal, sprinkle it on your pizza peel or another inverted baking sheet to prevent sticking.
- Transfer the dough to the pizza peel or baking sheet. Lightly brush the edges with olive oil.
- Spread the tomato pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch (2.5cm) border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese, distributing them evenly.
- Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes over the top for additional flavor.
- Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
