Pepperoni Pizza

A classic Italian-American dish featuring a thin crust topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and slices of spicy pepperoni.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to its highest setting, typically around 475°F (245°C), and place a pizza stone or an inverted baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. On a floured surface, stretch and roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch (30cm) circle. If using cornmeal, sprinkle it on your pizza peel or another inverted baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  3. Transfer the dough to the pizza peel or baking sheet. Lightly brush the edges with olive oil.
  4. Spread the tomato pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch (2.5cm) border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  6. Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese, distributing them evenly.
  7. Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes over the top for additional flavor.
  8. Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
