Chocolate fondue
A dessert dish featuring melted chocolate served with an assortment of dippable items like fruits, marshmallows, and pastries.
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the heavy cream, butter, and sugar. Stir frequently until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir gently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and kirsch (if using) until fully incorporated.
- Transfer the chocolate mixture to a fondue pot or a serving bowl set over a small tea light or warming element to keep it warm.
- Arrange the assorted dippers on a platter around the fondue pot or bowl.
- Serve immediately, using fondue forks or skewers to dip the assorted items into the chocolate.
