Bulgogi

Thinly sliced beef marinated in soy sauce, garlic, and sugar, then grilled or stir-fried.

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated onion, sesame seeds, black pepper, and mirin (if using). Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.
  3. Heat a grill pan or large skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, lightly oil the grates.
  4. Once the pan is hot, add the marinated beef slices in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  5. Remove the beef from the pan and transfer to a serving platter. Sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice and a side of kimchi for a complete meal.
