Raita

A traditional Indian side dish made with yogurt, spices, and vegetables or fruits, often served as a cooling accompaniment to spicy meals.

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth to remove any lumps.
  2. Add the roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, black salt, and regular salt. Mix well to combine.
  3. Gently fold in the grated cucumber, chopped tomato, and chopped onion into the spiced yogurt.
  4. Add the lemon juice and mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice as desired.
  6. Transfer the raita to a serving bowl.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.
