Peanut Butter Cookies
Classic cookies made with peanut butter, sugar, and flour.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the peanut butter mixture and beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the milk to help bring the dough together. If using, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches (5cm) between each cookie.
- Flatten each cookie slightly with a fork, creating a crisscross pattern on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
