Peanut Butter Cookies

Classic cookies made with peanut butter, sugar, and flour.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the peanut butter mixture and beat until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the milk to help bring the dough together. If using, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches (5cm) between each cookie.
  7. Flatten each cookie slightly with a fork, creating a crisscross pattern on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
