Yam fries
A dish of crispy fried yam sticks, often seasoned with spices and served with a dipping sauce.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, toss the yam sticks with olive oil until evenly coated.
- In a small bowl, combine sea salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cornstarch. Sprinkle this mixture over the yams, tossing to ensure even coverage.
- Spread the seasoned yam sticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not crowded.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, flip the fries, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- While the fries are baking, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing mayonnaise and sriracha sauce in a small bowl until smooth.
- Remove the yam fries from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
- Transfer the fries to a serving platter and serve immediately with the sriracha mayo dipping sauce.
