Tacos

A Mexican dish consisting of a folded or rolled tortilla filled with various ingredients such as meat, beans, cheese, and vegetables, often topped with salsa or guacamole.

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Rub the steak with the vegetable oil, then sprinkle the spice mixture evenly on both sides of the steak.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  4. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  5. While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  6. To assemble the tacos, place a few slices of steak in the center of each tortilla.
  7. Top with chopped onion, fresh cilantro, and a slice or two of avocado.
  8. Serve the tacos with lime wedges and fresh salsa or pico de gallo on the side.
  9. Encourage guests to squeeze fresh lime over the tacos and add salsa to taste.
