Bagels with cream cheese

A classic breakfast or snack featuring a round, chewy bagel sliced in half and generously spread with creamy, tangy cream cheese.

Instructions

  1. Slice each bagel in half horizontally and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and whole milk. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the cream cheese mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Taste the cream cheese mixture and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  5. Spread a generous amount of the seasoned cream cheese onto the cut side of each bagel half.
  6. If using, place a slice of smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese.
  7. Top with a few slices of red onion, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately for the freshest taste, or wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.
